The Jumbo alone makes it worth it, and the 76mm gun on basically every other vehicle makes you unstoppable if you get first shot off - which, with the stabilizers on every tank in that tier, you absolutely will, every time. Combine that with really, really good gun depression, and you've got an excellent lineup of tanks.
The german starter pack has two really good vehicles that you can bring out together perfectly if you play ground realistic and want a plane in your lineup. It costs about $6-7 iirc. Edit: Forgot to tell you that the premiums in the starter pack will only research up to rank 2 efficiently. They’re worth it nonetheless.
Crusader III is the clear top dog of British Rank I, it has enough speed to be responsive and move about on the map, and it has probably the best 57mm gun in the game (even counting the T-34-57 gun). Verdict: Use other tanks only to grind to Crusader III if you're just starting the game. Otherwise, use the Crusader III.
